Body armor is a protective clothing designed to reduce the impact and penetration power of projectiles. The most common variations of body armor for military/paramilitary use is ballistic armor. Modern Ballistic armor often consists of aramid kevlar, steel, and/or ceramic rifle plates.

InsurgencyEdit

Insurgency features two types of armors, Light Armor and Heavy Armor. Players may equip either of these or choose to have no armor at all. Heavier armors will cost more supply points than lighter armors as they offer greater protection.

Light and heavy armors reduce the amount of damage done to the torso (i.e. chest and stomach) by 60% and 90%, respectively. Armors have no effect on the head, arms, or legs. Armor will always offer more protection against bullets to the torso than no armor at all, even against AP rounds. Armor never stops all damage, only reduces it.

Like all equipment, different armors have varying weights. This affects player speed and stamina.

Security vs. Insurgent Forces Edit

The Security Forces have a contract with a supplier, allowing them free access to Light Armor and reduced cost to Heavy Armor. As a result, Security forces tend to use body armor more often, giving Insurgents more incentive to use AP rounds.

The Insurgent Forces have no such contract, so their body armor is more expensive.
