    Sandstorm - Reload Mechanics

    We got another Insurgency: Sandstorm gameplay video, showing off reload mechanics. Reloads in Sandstorm are even more realistic. If the reloading is interrupted, the weapon will be as it should be in real life. For example, the magazine already fell out but you need to switch to your sidearm to defend yourself. When you switch back to your primary, there will still be one round in the chamber. Pressing reload will make your character load a new magazine, which will be faster than a normal reload because the previous mag was already ejected.

    Insurgency: Sandstorm News

    Today we got a massive update for Insurgency: Sandstorm. Due to the media embargo, NWI wasn't able to upload images from the studio about the game, but that embargo ended today. Which means we can expect some more news on the way, and maybe some screenshots like the two here on the right.

    Sandstorm will be released in 2018, and NWI hopes to release a closed alpha at the end of this year. Unlike Insurgency, Insurgency: Sandstorm will be available for the PS4 and Xbox 1, as well as on Steam. To make this possible, the game doesn't run on Valve's Source engine, but on Unreal Engine 4.

    Dry Canal Update

    A new update has arrived to Insurgency! It brings a new map, some new animations, and many other small improvements. See for the complete changelist.
    Also, the game is on a -85% sale for the rest of the month! It would be a crime to not pick it up if you haven't already.

    Along with the update, the Day of Infamy mod has been updated with two new maps and a new weapon. See for the changelist.

    Conqueror Update

    The Conquer Update for Insurgency was released today. This update includes a new map, Linux support, new weapons, a new coop game mode, new AI, spectator improvements, grenade launcher sights, and more. Insurgency is also being featured in the latest Humble Bundle.

    The following change log was taken from Insurgency's Conquer Update Changelist and modified for relevance to this Wiki.

    Also, Insurgency is on sale (-35%) for the rest of September.

    New World Interactive has relaunched their company website at - along with the relaunch of their official forums. This is after the forums were shut down nearly 10 months ago after the site was compromised. Additionally, there is also a Roadmap on Trello that you can use to follow the development of what NWI is working on next, what's being tested, and submit requests that you'd like to see in Insurgency.

    These resources will allow the Wiki to stay more up to date with the developers and the community. Sections of developer blogs can be added to pages in the form of trivia, and various technical aspects of the game may be revealed through these mediums.

    Because of security reasons, custom styles and javascript has been temporary turned off. I don't know how long this will take.

    This means that the site will still work, but will look somewhat different. There's nothing we can do about it, except hoping that wikia fixes the issues soon.

    EDIT: It looks like the CSS has been activated again, which means there are just some small things that won't work anymore, but the site looks normal again.

    Oh well hello there

    I'm not sure how many people will read this, as this wiki is pretty quiet. Still, it has more than 11000 views per week so I decided to write this first news blog post to give some explanation.

    Maybe you knew already, but I'm new to this wiki. At this moment, the wiki is undergoing a massive overhaul. Pages are getting new infoboxes and are categorised.

    Because of the extremely low activity here, I never got much feedback on the changes I made here. If you have any feedback, suggestions or other comments please leave them below, no matter who you are!
