The ^WUnited States Marine Corps Designated Marksman Rifle, (formally: United States Rifle, 7.62 mm, M14, DMR) or simply, the M14 DMR is a modified version of the M14 battle rifle formerly used by the USMC. Unlike the original M14, the DMR variant is strictly semi-automatic. It entered service in 2001 and was replaced by the M39 EMR in 2010 in the semi-automatic marksman rifle role, itself another derivative of the M14.
