The WUMP (German: Universale Maschinenpistole) is a blowback-operated, magazine-fed submachine gun developed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It was developed as a lighter and cheaper successor to the MP5, though both remain in production. The UMP can be chambered in .45 ACP (UMP45), .40 S&W (UMP40), and 9×19mm Parabellum (UMP9).

Insurgency[]

The UMP-45 is a submachine gun featured in Insurgency.

The UMP-45 fires a larger round that deals more damage than the MP5K, but suffers from greater recoil and a slower rate of fire of 600 RPM. This makes the UMP-45 more suitable for close-mid range combat.

Trivia[]

Insurgency

  • The UMP-45 is considered the Security faction's counter to the MP40 due to their slow rates of fire.
  • In reality, the UMP-45's foregrip can be removable, as it is a standard grip attached to a picatinny rail. However, the UMP in-game has it permanently attached.
  • There is an alternative dry reload animation for download on the Steam workshop, it replaces the standard HK Slap with a simplistic pull of the bolt. For gameplay/balance reasons, both reloads require the same time to finish. However, it is improper to a certain degree, as the 'HK slap' is actually recommended procedure; a softer approach might not drive the bolt home properly, and may result in feeding problems.
  • HOWEVER, improper HK slaps will damage the charging handle catch over time, which is not good for the firearm either.
