An Improvised Explosive Device is usually a crudely homemade explosive device designed to be planted in roadside ambushes or used as explosive devices.
Insurgency
In Insurgency, the IED is the remote explosive device avaliable to the Insurgent faction. It costs 4 supply points and is only avaliable to the Striker, Sapper, and Bomber classes. It uses a cell phone as a detonator.
Compared to C4
When compared to the Security faction's C4, the IED has a the exact same stats as the C4, with the only difference being the shape and size of the explosives.
