The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) is a British Commonwealth derivative of the Belgian FAL battle rifle. A major difference between the L1A1 and FAL is the lack of selective fire capabilities; fully automatic capabilities were intentionally removed from the L1A1 due to the difficultly of controlling an automatic 7.62x51mm battle rifle.

The L1A1 SLR is a battle rifle available to the Security faction. It has identical stats to the FAL, with the exception of selective fire capabilities..

Trivia

The L1A1 SLR is the only semi-automatic primary weapon used by the security forces.
Prior to the Conqueror Update (oct 15), the L1A1 SLR was only available in Competitive matches. It also had the exact model as the FAL.
Because of using the same magazine in the same cartridge, if an Insurgent player equips an FAL and later picks up a Security's L1A1, the reserve magazines will be shared, making it one of the few weapons that can be reloaded by the opposite team. Vice-versa is true as well.
